1. THE SHORT VERSION
We use basic analytics to understand how many people visit our site and which pages are popular. We do not build profiles. We do not sell data. We do not share data with advertisers beyond what Google Analytics anonymously collects.
2. WHAT WE COLLECT
What you enter stays in your browser. Birth dates, times, and any other inputs you make on EarthClock run entirely as JavaScript in your browser. This data never leaves your device and is never transmitted to our servers or any third party.
Automatically collected data (via Google Analytics):
- Pages visited and time spent on each page
- Country and region (not city or precise location)
- Browser type and device category (mobile/desktop)
- Referring website (how you found us)
- Anonymous session identifiers
This data is anonymized and aggregated. We cannot identify you personally from any of it.
3. GOOGLE ANALYTICS
We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors interact with EarthClock. Google Analytics uses cookies to collect anonymized usage data.
Google's data practices are governed by Google's Privacy Policy. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking at any time using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
4. COOKIES
EarthClock uses the following cookies:
- Google Analytics cookies (_ga, _gid): Anonymous usage tracking. Expire after 2 years and 24 hours respectively.
- No advertising cookies: We do not currently serve advertising. If this changes, we will update this policy and notify users.
You can disable cookies in your browser settings. EarthClock's core functionality works fully without cookies — the counters, globe, and birth calculator do not require cookies to operate.
5. THIRD PARTY LINKS
EarthClock links to external sources such as WHO, UN, and NASA for reference purposes. These sites have their own privacy policies which we do not control. We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of any external websites.
6. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY
EarthClock is a general educational resource suitable for all ages. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children under 13. Since we collect no personal data at all, this is naturally satisfied. If you are a parent with concerns, please contact us at hello@earthclock.world.
7. GDPR — EU USERS
If you are located in the European Economic Area, your rights under GDPR include: access to your data, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, and the right to object. Since EarthClock collects no identifiable personal data, most of these rights are automatically satisfied. For any privacy concerns, contact us at hello@earthclock.world.
8. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We may update this Privacy Policy as EarthClock grows. Changes will be reflected by updating the "Last Updated" date above. Continued use of EarthClock after any update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
